About these calculators
Calculators save time and prevent small mistakes that grow into big ones. A wrong percentage on a discount, a missed month of interest on a loan or a rounding slip in a tip can all cost real money. The calculators here use standard published formulas and show the working, so you can check any result by hand.
Each calculator is built around a common question. How much will I pay each month? What will my savings be in fifteen years? What is the price after tax? What does an hourly wage equal in a year? You enter a few numbers, press the button and see the answer along with the other figures people usually need next, such as total interest or the amount saved.
What each tool does
- Percentage Calculator: Use it for three jobs: find a percentage of a number, find what percent one number is of another, or find the percent change between two numbers.
- BMI Calculator: BMI is your weight in kilograms divided by your height in meters squared. A BMI from 18.5 to 24.9 is considered a healthy weight for most adults.
- Tip Calculator: Multiply the bill by the tip percentage to get the tip, add it to the bill, then divide by the number of people. This calculator does all of it at once.
- Average Calculator: The average, or mean, is the sum of the numbers divided by how many there are. This tool also gives the median, mode, range and standard deviation.
- GPA Calculator: Enter each course as a letter grade and its credit hours. The calculator multiplies grade points by credits and divides by total credits to give your GPA.
- Fuel Cost Calculator: Divide the distance by your fuel economy to find how much fuel you need, then multiply by the fuel price. This tool does it for mpg, km per liter and L per 100 km.
- TDEE and Calorie Calculator: TDEE is your total daily energy expenditure, the calories you burn in a day. Enter your details to see your BMR and an estimate of your maintenance calories.
- Ratio Calculator: Enter two numbers to simplify their ratio and add a third to find the matching missing value. Useful for recipes, maps, screens and scaling.
- Speed Distance Time Calculator: Choose what you want to find, enter the other two values and read speed, distance and time in several units. Speed equals distance divided by time.
- Pace Calculator: Enter your distance and time to get your pace per kilometer and per mile, your speed, and the time you would need for a 5K, 10K, half marathon and marathon at that pace.
- Fraction Calculator: Enter two fractions and an operation. The tool shows the simplified fraction, the mixed number and the decimal, with the unsimplified result for checking.
- Distance Calculator: Choose two cities or enter latitude and longitude. The tool shows the great circle distance in kilometers, miles and nautical miles, plus an approximate flight time.
- Scientific Calculator: Type an expression such as 2 * (3 + 4)^2 or sin(30) + sqrt(16). The calculator follows the order of operations and shows the result in degrees or radians mode.
- Standard Deviation Calculator: Enter your numbers separated by commas or spaces. The calculator returns the standard deviation and variance for a sample or a full population, plus the mean and median.
- Final Grade Calculator: Enter your current grade, how much the final exam is worth and the grade you want. The calculator shows the exact score you need on the final.
- BMR Calculator: Enter your sex, age, height and weight. The calculator estimates the calories your body burns at rest and gives a daily calorie range for five activity levels.
- Pythagorean Theorem Calculator: Enter any two sides of a right triangle and leave the third empty. The calculator finds the missing side using a squared plus b squared equals c squared.
How to choose the right tool
Start with the question you are trying to answer. For borrowing, use the loan EMI calculator. For saving and investing, use the compound interest calculator. For shopping, use the discount and VAT calculators. For comparing jobs, use the hourly to salary calculator.
Remember that real life adds fees, taxes and rounding rules that a general calculator cannot know. Treat results as a clear estimate and confirm important figures with your bank, lender, employer or accountant.
