About these text tools
Writers, students, editors and marketers handle text all day. A word count for an essay, a character limit for a post, a clean list for an import: these small jobs take minutes by hand and seconds with the right tool.
Text is processed on your device, so private drafts and customer lists are not uploaded anywhere. Most tools update as you type.
What each tool does
- Word Counter: Paste or type your text and the counter shows words, characters, sentences, paragraphs, reading time and the most used words as you type.
- Character Counter: Paste your text to count characters with spaces, without spaces and in bytes, and see how far you are from the limits of popular platforms.
- Case Converter: Paste text and the converter shows it in nine styles, from upper and lower case to title case and programming formats such as camelCase and snake case.
- Remove Duplicate Lines: Paste a list with one item per line. The tool removes repeated lines and keeps the first copy of each, so you get a clean unique list.
- Sort Lines Alphabetically: Paste a list with one item per line, choose a sort order and the tool returns the sorted list ready to copy.
- URL Slug Generator: Type a page title and the tool returns a clean slug in lowercase with hyphens between words, with accents and special characters removed.
- Text Repeater: Enter your text, set how many times to repeat it and choose a separator. The tool outputs the repeated text ready to copy.
- Blog Title Generator: Type your topic and the generator creates headline ideas using proven formats such as lists, guides and questions, and shows the length of each one.
- Readability Checker: Paste your text and the checker gives a Flesch reading ease score, an approximate school grade level and the average words per sentence.
- Text Diff Checker: Paste an original and a changed version. The checker highlights lines that were added or removed so you can see exactly what changed.
- Reverse Text Tool: The reverse text tool flips your text three ways: reverse every character, reverse the word order, or reverse the order of lines. Paste text and copy the result.
- Remove Line Breaks Tool: Paste text with unwanted line breaks and the tool joins it into clean flowing text. You can keep blank lines between paragraphs and remove extra spaces.
- Find and Replace Tool: Paste your text, enter what to find and what to replace it with. Options for case, whole words and regular expressions let you do simple or advanced bulk edits.
- Email Subject Line Generator: Enter your topic, pick the email type and get six subject line ideas with character counts. Use them as a base and adjust the wording to your audience.
- Citation Generator: Enter the author, title, site or publisher, year and link. The generator formats the reference in APA 7, MLA 9 and Chicago so you can copy it.
How to choose the right tool
Use the word counter for essays and articles and the character counter for posts, titles and descriptions. Use the case converter to fix capitals, and the duplicate remover and sorter to clean lists. Use the slug generator when you publish a page.
Always proofread the result. Automatic tools cannot know your style rules or proper nouns.
