What is zakat calculator?
Zakat is the yearly charity that Muslims give from wealth held above a minimum level called nisab. The usual rate is 2.5 percent of net zakatable wealth after one lunar year.
This calculator adds your assets, subtracts debts due now, compares the total with nisab and shows the zakat due. You enter the current metal price so the result stays current in your own currency.
How to use the zakat calculator
- Choose silver or gold as your nisab standard and enter today's price per gram.
- Enter your assets and debts in your own currency.

How the zakat calculator works
Net wealth equals cash, gold, silver, investments, business assets and receivables minus debts due. Nisab equals 612.36 grams of silver or 87.48 grams of gold times the price per gram. If net wealth reaches nisab, zakat equals 2.5 percent of net wealth.

Background: what to know before you rely on it
Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. It purifies wealth and supports people in need, and the Quran lists those who may receive it. The classical rate is one fortieth, which is 2.5 percent, on wealth held for a full lunar year above nisab. Rulings differ between schools on jewelry, shares, business inventory and debts, so a calculator can only apply the common rule. Enter honest figures, use current metal prices and confirm special cases with a scholar you trust.
